Forge - Pages
Pages simply render the content that you have applied to them. The Page template section does not have any settings itself, but the blocks themselves do. The Page content block, that displays your page content from the backend, has an option to adjust the layout position of your page content from main Content to Sidebar. For more powerful layouts, we recommend utilizing sections to create a more compelling presentation without the need for code, frustrating apps or layout hacks.
When working with a page, the sections that you add will be visible on all of other pages that share that same template. If you would like to create some different pages all of which have unique section content we recommend creating some alternate templates, see our creating alternate templates doc for more detail.
Forge page templates
Forge includes 6 page templates. Each of these templates come with a Page template section that Forge uses to display the Page content, along with having the ability to use other blocks like Headers, Text, a Menu, and Contact form. This makes easier to display certain content on certain pages while using the Page content from the backend.
The Default template will render the Page template section with the Page content block only; add to this by including additional blocks or more sections to feature other content from your store.
Forge also includes a Contact page template which will load a Heading, Text, and the Contact form block inside the Page template section. Page content is hidden by default.
To use the Contact page template, in your main Shopify admin open: Online store > pages Open the page you wish to assign to the template and on the right side under Template choose: page.contact
Click Save when done - this will automatically show a contact form when visited in your store.
The about template comes preloaded with the page content block only added to the Page template section, but also has other sections preloaded. These are Template header, 2 Image with text sections, and an Image gallery section, though they can all be edited/removed.
The lookbook template has the Template header and Page template sections hidden but comes preloaded with a Collage, Image gallery, another Collage, another Image gallery, Section heading, and Featured collection sections. These can be edited/removed as needed.
The FAQ template comes preloaded with a Template header, Page template with a Header block, Menu block, Text block, Header block, and the Page content block. You can add accordion or editorial columns sections as needed, or any other type of section.
The Ring Size Guide template has the Page template section hidden but comes preloaded with the Template header, Image with text, Text with icons, Image with text, Table, and Rich text sections. These can be edited/removed as needed and can be used more than just for Rings.
Tip: To configure and view the sections on the above pages, once you have assigned a page to a template you will need to open that page within the theme editor.
